Our services.
As a Bona-Certified business, our craftsmen are professionally trained to use the complete Bona hardwood system. We also provide installation and repair services that many local competitors do not.
revive
Deep clean your floor and remove scuffs within hours. Revive the floor’s natural glow and remove ground-in dirt buildup safely and easily.
restore
Rejuvenate your floor or deck overnight with light sanding and re-coating. Restore luster and protect the floor’s beauty.
refinish
Remove damage and discoloration in your floor with dust-free sanding and water-based refinishing, or update the floor’s design with a new stain or natural finish.
installation
We install solid hardwood (both prefinished and unfinished, including inlay design), engineered hardwood, stair treads and risers, as well as face-nailed strip flooring common to many of Indy’s historic homes.
Please note that we remove but do not install laminate, vinyl, linoleum tile, and carpet.
repair
We repair holes, gauges, discoloration, missing floorboards, or other damages to hardwoods.
maintenance
All of our customers receive a Bona floor care kit (microfiber mop and floor cleaner) along with information to maintain the hardwood floor.
Our work.
The estimation process
1.
Complete and submit a request form to give us an overview of your needs.
2.
We will determine if your project is a good fit for us. If so, we will provide a link for you to schedule a time for one of our craftsmen to visit your home, inspect your floor, and discuss your options.
3.
We will send you a detailed quote, a basic contract, and a 25% deposit invoice. If you approve the job, and upon receipt of the signed contract and required deposit, your project will be scheduled.
4.
Once your job is complete, we will invoice for the final amount due.

Chrysalis Hardwoods, headquartered in the heart of Indianapolis’ historic Meridian-Kessler neighborhood, is an all-in-one service provider for hardwood flooring needs, including sanding and finishing, installation, recoating, deep cleaning, and repairs. Our Bona-Certified team of craftsmen are passionate about flooring and experts at reviving dull or damaged hardwoods into the stunning floors they were meant to be.
Owner Brad Nelson is a husband, father, entrepreneur, and craftsman. After restoring the original floor in his 1912 craftsman-style home, he fell in love with the process and founded Chrysalis Hardwoods in 2008. Fifteen years later in 2023, the company expanded to its second location in Charlotte, North Carolina, and in 2024, to its third location in Boston, Massachusetts.
Similar to the transformation of a caterpillar inside of its chrysalis—emerging as a new creature—so can Chrysalis Hardwoods breathe new life into your floors. We serve homeowners, contractors, and businesses in the Indianapolis, Charlotte, and Boston metro areas, specializing in historic building preservation and restoration.
